RealPage has temporarily paused new integrations with EliseAI as it reviews concerns about the AI provider's compliance with their existing integration agreement. The dispute centers on Apollo, EliseAI's AI agent designed to perform tasks across multiple multifamily property management functions.
RealPage CEO Dirk Wakeham said EliseAI did not submit Apollo for review and raised concerns about whether the technology operates within agreed-upon access controls. RealPage is seeking assurances that the integration meets its requirements for security, governance, and performance monitoring before allowing new activations to proceed.
The pause affects new property activations and applications, but existing EliseAI integrations and data flows remain unchanged. RealPage maintains that the decision is intended to protect sensitive information, including resident records, lease details, financial data, and credit information, rather than restrict operators' access to their own data.
The decision has raised concerns among property operators implementing EliseAI across their portfolios, as delayed activations could disrupt rollout schedules and operational planning. Industry observers have also emphasized the importance of giving operators greater control over how third-party applications access property management systems and resident information.
The dispute highlights broader challenges facing the multifamily industry as AI tools take on more complex operational responsibilities. As property managers increasingly adopt AI for leasing, resident communications, and maintenance, clear integration agreements, data security safeguards, and oversight processes are becoming increasingly important.
