Stop Waiting for Motivation

If you're waiting to feel motivated before you take action, you might be waiting a very long time.

That's something I had to learn myself.

We often think successful people wake up every day feeling energized and inspired. We imagine they jump out of bed excited to work out, meal prep, and tackle every goal on their list.

The truth is much less glamorous.

Most successful people don't rely on motivation.

They rely on habits.

Some days you'll feel motivated. Other days you won't.

Some mornings you'll wake up excited to move your body. Other mornings you'll want to stay under the covers and forget about every goal you've ever set.

That's normal.

What separates people who reach their goals from those who don't isn't motivation. It's consistency.

It's choosing to take action even when you don't feel like it.

You don't have to complete a perfect workout.

You don't have to prepare a gourmet healthy meal.

You don't have to accomplish everything.

You just have to do something.

Take the walk.

Drink the water.

Prepare the breakfast.

Show up.

Small actions may not seem significant in the moment, but they compound over time.

Months from now, you'll be grateful for every small decision you made on the days you didn't feel motivated.

Because motivation gets you started.

Habits keep you going.
